Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Take raw data from systems, databases and/or other sources and translate into impactful solutions for designated area. Compile and gather data across functional areas and provide in-depth analysis of what that data means in current business environment/culture. Integrate findings into existing strategic business goals/plans.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex mathematical models, algorithms, and formulas to analyze data, prove theories, and solve problems.
• Transform data complexities and results into a concise story with clear takeaways.
• Identify the business data needed to produce the most useful insights.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and prioritize problems.
• Analyze all possible solutions and present findings to leadership.
• Utilize SQL query development to gather data for models.
• Utilize Tableau to communicate results.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence Team for production level reporting and visualization tools.
• Seek opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiency.
• Challenge established policies and procedures when appropriate.
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

• Previous experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Previous experience working with SQL in Impala, DB2 or SQL Server preferred.
• Previous experience working with analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar tools preferred.
• Previous experience presenting data driven solutions to leadership preferred.
• Previous experience with Python, R or SAS preferred.
• Previous experience with Gurobi Optimization preferred.
• Masters in Statistics or Mathematics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
• PhD preferred.
• Must have data mining and analytical mindset.
• Must possess ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Must be able to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Must be inquisitive and enjoy learning.
