Data Analyst Intern

We are seeking a Data Analyst Intern to help monitor the performance of our games during pre-release, early access and release periods. This individual should have a background in analytics and statistics to pair with a passion for games, gamers and gaming. Additionally, the individual should have a strong interest in the effective reporting of game experience metrics and trends to our game development partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Use data to identify opportunities for optimizing and improving the player experience.
• Conduct day-to-day reporting and analysis using existing data streams and views.
• Maintain and update existing data views.
• Work with partners to identify data stream efficiency opportunities.
• In partnership with other Insights team members, take on focused deep-dive experience investigations.
• Develop and cultivate strong relationships with the Insights teams and their partners to inspire improvement within our game experiences.

Internship Qualifications:

• Six to twelve months related experience and/or training, or students enrolled at a college or university, working towards a Bachelor’s in either a data-oriented degree (Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, etc.) or a related degree with a strongly data-oriented emphasis (HCI, Finance, Economics, etc.).
• Master's candidates may apply for this internship.
• We will also consider recent graduates – within 12 months of graduation, when the internship begins
• Existing classroom or better experience with data and analytical tools (Looker, Tableau, Excel Power BI, R, Python, etc.).
• Strong baseline knowledge and instinct for the use of Statistics in applied scenarios.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent intrapersonal skills: friendliness and diplomacy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• A passion for games as a forum for communication and expression of ideas, an empathetic understanding of gamers, and a regular participant in your own gaming experiences.
• Knowledge and experience with Insomniac Games' projects is desirable.
• Prior experience with Database tools (SQL, Apache, Access, etc) is desirable.

Internship Details:

• This is a paid, full-time internship.
• The student must be available to intern 5 days per week for approximately 40 hours a week.
• The duration of internship is flexible, but we expect at least an 8-week commitment from our interns.
• This role is based in Burbank, California, Durham, North Carolina, or remote.
