Data Analyst IV - Remote

• Provide consultative guidance on data analysis techniques 

• Provide guidance and mentoring to other employees performing data analysis functions 

• Work closely with management to prioritize business information needs 

• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities 

• Develop and present recommendations at the appropriate level for audience in an easy-to-understand manner. 

• Perform the following tasks in an advanced capacity: 

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports 

• Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality 

• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems 

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets 

• Filter and “clean” data, recommend and establish key performance indicators to maintain and correct data problems 

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related professional work experience. 

• 5+ years related analytics experience 

• Knowledge of leading practices and how own area integrates with others 

• Ability to gain in-depth understanding of company products and services, awareness of the competition, and knowledge of factors that differentiate TruStage in the market 

Data Skills - examples of this are

• Processes more advanced knowledge of ELT and ability to create structures using specified tools 

• Can create basic databases and individual data structures 

• Provides basic datasets to analyst teams for exploratory analysis 

Data Knowledge - examples of this are: 

• In-depth knowledge of key data within a specific data domain and or business unit (limited SME knowledge) 

• Ability to start connecting multiple lines of business and or data domains across the enterprise 

• Ability to tutor individuals within the department on specific data domains / businesses 

• Helps interpret business definitions to actual coded data transformations 

• SME knowledge on one or more source systems 

Data Modeling - Examples of this are

• Knowledge of the logical and physical data model currently leveraged by a specific business unit 

• Often is called upon to augment existing data models with either new data elements or to update model based on changing requirements 

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into model relationships 

Reporting & BI - examples of this are:

• Ability to construct dynamic reports / scorecards vs static reports 

• Active use of current BI applications within the marketplace (Tableau, PowerBI, BO) 

• Ability to represent relevant data within comprehensive visuals 

Stewardship & Governance - examples of this are:

• Understanding of data definitions, lineage and works with analysts across the business to determine specific rules 

Communications 

• Ability to communicate (written and verbal) with internal and external teams regarding tasks and assignments 

• Ability to communicate analytics in layperson's terms 

• Capable of leading development of presentation logic 

• Strong presentation skills
