Job Purpose

Support needs related to gathering, maintaining, and governing asset data across the electric business. Add value by analyzing GIS technical, data, and process challenges and delivering solutions

Key Accountabilities

• Collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and technical partners to analyze GIS data, process, and system workflows
• Perform Smallworld GIS network model maintenance, based on engineering designs and information from the field, to ensure the electric asset data is correct in GIS.
• Analyze GIS data errors and identify resolution requirements. Work with stakeholders on data corrections.
• Identify business process, data, and system improvement opportunities. Work with SMEs and technical partners to investigate opportunities, test potential improvements, communicate with stakeholders, and implement solutions.
• Embed best practice solutions while promoting security, consistency, availability, standardization, and accuracy of asset information

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

• Proven experience working with diverse teams to gather user requirements and translate into action plans
• Exceptional and demonstrated customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) including proven ability to effectively communicate with leadership teams, peers, and both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Sciences, Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of a degree and work experience.
• Ability to travel throughout the National Grid service territory as needed (less than 20%)
• Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving history
• Data, process, and system workflow analysis with the ability to identify problems, gaps, and opportunities, and propose solutions
• Proven experience working with diverse teams to gather user requirements and translate into action plans
• Demonstrated analytical skills, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities
• Experience working with utility GIS models and systems - Smallworld GIS and/or ESRI
• Experience working with utility asset information highly desirable
• Proficient with computer applications including databases, spreadsheets and other general applications
• Exceptional and demonstrated customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) including proven ability to effectively communicate with leadership teams, peers, and both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a matrix environment
• Highly motivated with ability to take an assignment and progress it independently
