Position Overview
The Data Analyst, Operations Engineering primarily provides technical support to a large Solar and Storage operating fleet by transforming data into actionable insights & business intelligence, optimizing fleet performance, and guiding data-driven decisions.
Core Responsibilities
- Curate metrics, KPI’s, and reports that transform equipment information into operational intelligence.
- Clean and process raw data to remove outliers, errors, and inconsistencies.
- Transform data into suitable formats for analysis and reporting.
- Design and maintain reports, dashboards and visualizations that communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with operations engineering, asset management, and site management teams to build tools to detect and diagnose underperformance issues.
- Manage recurring metric reporting processes and identify actionable items.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to quantify energy and revenue impact from operational events.
- Model expected performance scenarios under various operational decisions.
- Model performance impact of software and hardware upgrades.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements such as NERC GADS.
- Utilize the Aveva PI system tools to create real time analyses.
Required Skills
- Familiarity with Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with the Aveva PI software suite.
- Familiarity with database environments & query languages (SQL preferred).
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Python or other programming experience.
- Experience with solar modeling tools such as PVSyst.
