Data Analyst, Translational Data Science
Job Description
About Company:
HiFiBiO Therapeutics is a–global biotech company headquartered in Cambridge, MA, pioneering a unique high-resolution translational solution (DIS®) to enhance the probability of success for immunotherapies.
We integrate deep-rooted biological expertise, apply advanced single-cell profiling technologies, and leverage open-innovation strategies to accelerate the development of a repertoire of innovative antibody drugs to treat cancer and autoimmune disorders. HiFiBiO fosters a fast-paced and engaging work environment, providing high-growth opportunities for our employees to learn new skills and tackle new challenges daily.Â
Â
Job Description:Â
We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible hands-on Data Analyst to join our growing Translational Data Science team within the Translational Medicine organization. You will be at the center of our desire to use clinical, biomarker, and single-cell data to bring forward new medicines. You will leverage your creativity and analytical thinking to develop and apply computational methods and pipelines to advance both our internal microfluidic single-cell platform and our clinical programs. Your work will help us gain actionable insight from our high-dimensional and multi-modal data and assess our biotherapeutics’ ability to combat cancer and autoimmune diseases by modulating the immune repertoire.Â
What you will do:Â
Develop and apply computational methods and pipelines to gain actionable insight from our platform and patient data. Examples include:Â
Sequence-level bioinformatics analyses to customize single-cell pipelines for novel single-cell protocolsÂ
Pipelines for data processing and QC including visualization and integrative analysis (e.g., Nextflow, Python, shell scripts) including but not limited to quality control, alignment, variant calling, annotation, deconvolution, etc. using the following modalities for RNA: bulk, single cell, TCR/BCR, and spatial and for protein: CITE/REAP-Seq, mIF, and high dimensional flow cytometry
Best practices for single-cell methods include data imputation and normalization, bulk deconvolution, cell type/state analysis, cell-cell interaction/trajectory inference, reconstruction of cell type-specific interactomes – cellphoneDB, and spatial transcriptomic analysis and visualizationÂ
Dashboards for data processing and synthesis of QC metrics (e.g., Streamlit in Python) to facilitate platform process improvements as well as assess longitudinal assay performanceÂ
Synthesize our data into actionable insights by supplying any needed computational, statistical, machine learning, or modeling capabilities to Platform and Translational teams. Examples include:Â
Computational strategies for disease endotyping from back-translational studies to identify and rank indications for first in-human-studies as well as identify actionable targets/combinationsÂ
Identification and qualification of biomarkers (e.g., selection, PD, efficacy biomarkers) and analysis of data from both our clinical efforts and our internal microfluidic single-cell platformÂ
What you will bring:Â
Ph.D. in a computational, statistical, biophysics, or bioinformatics-related fields
A minimum of 5 years of research (academia or industry) experienceÂ
First-hand experience in single-cell sequencing analysis and data generation methods as well as the computing infrastructure and data management methods
First-hand multi-parametric data mining experience for disease endotyping, target identification, and biomarker analysis. For example, multivariate analysis; dimensionality reduction methods; parametric and non-parametric statistical methods; Bayesian statistics; pattern recognition or classification methodsÂ
Expert level fluency in statistical programming using Python, R/bioconductor, or equivalents
Demonstrated ability to lead projects of moderate scope, mapping out critical paths, milestones, and timelines, as well as managing expectations with minimal supervision
Curiosity to dive below the surface and proactively identify critical issues including their tactical and strategic resolutionsÂ
Excellent oral and written communicationÂ
