What we do:
We are seeking a talented Data Analytics and Forecasting Specialist to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This position will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making processes, building robust time series forecast models, and optimizing workflows through automation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analytics, time series forecasting, and data science, with a passion for driving actionable insights and process improvements.
What you'll do:
- Data Analysis & Insights:
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover actionable insights and trends within large datasets.
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and data visualization tools to communicate findings effectively.
- Provide strategic recommendations to inform business decisions and drive performance improvements.
- Create custom queries and scripts in SQL to access, manipulate, and analyze data from various sources.
- Time Series Forecasting & Predictive Modeling:
- Develop and implement robust time series forecast models to predict future trends and performance metrics.
- Leverage machine learning and AI algorithms to enhance forecasting accuracy and reliability.
- Continuously refine and optimize forecasting methodologies to adapt to changing market dynamics.
- Workflow Optimization & Automation:
- Explore AI/ML-driven solutions to automate repetitive tasks, improve data processing efficiency, and drive innovation within the FP&A function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for workflow optimization and process automation.
- Design and implement automated solutions to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
- Develop tools and dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:
- Act as a subject matter expert on data analytics, forecasting, and automation techniques within the FP&A team.
- Partner with FP&A analysts and business stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making..
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and excellence.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to non-technical audiences.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MS, MBA) is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, forecasting, FP&A, and/or data science roles, preferably within the technology or advertising industry.
- Experience in Python for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning. Familiarity with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
- Comfort using SQL for querying and manipulating relational databases.
- Demonstrated understanding of time series forecasting techniques and machine learning algorithms.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing automated solutions to optimize workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$93,100—$170,600 USD
