Job Description

The Data & Analytics Communications PM for the Consumer Sales Organization (CSO) Voice of Customer team is responsible for managing communications and projects across the team, including – drafting and finalizing monthly written communications, driving workbacks for key communications moments, and supporting project management of key efforts and workstreams across the team.

Microsoft’s CSO team interacts with millions of Microsoft customers around the world every month – through both partner and direct channels, and through physical and digital storefronts. As the Data & Analytics Comms PM for CSO VoC, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the impact of the VoC program by managing projects and writing meaningful and engaging communications leveraging data & analytics that create awareness of insights across the organization and influence business decisions.

You will work closely with:

  • The VoC Program Manager for general direction and alignment to broader PM efforts including comms, rhythms, influence moments, and insights opportunities
  • The Sr. Business Strategy Manager for VoC to understand the direction and approach for new listening opportunities and project management requirements
  • The Product Manager for VoC platform to understand timing/implementation of dev efforts to it is reflected and/or aligns to roadmap

This is a project-based role, in which the person supporting will be responsible for executing the following deliverables each month:

1.     1x month written communication: Monthly CSO Marketing Voice of Customer update - An executive level communication summarizing insights, activity, and roadmap across company stakeholders; key audience: CVP and VP level.

a.     Includes 2-3 x month forum review and approvals for content based on defined workback

2.     4x month insights summary and analysis for Physical Direct (MEC and Company Store): Weekly analysis and communications summarizing associate insights for VP level audience

3.     To launch in FY24: NEW 2x-4x month insights summary/awareness on customer verbatims, topical themes to help with “what are customers saying” (Supports Sr. Business Strategy Manager to produce as needed).

4.     4x month forum/review: Roadmap review and project status updates across the VoC team (weekly team meeting)

a.     4x month updates to roadmap (once a week) to ensure accuracy

b.     4x month updates to project POR decks and statuses

5.     2x month written communication: Biweekly VoC Team update: A tactical biweekly update summarizing key projects, work, and status across the VoC team core pillars

Key responsibilities to accomplish deliverables:

  • Rhythm of Business and Communications
  • Maintains Rhythm of Business calendar across Voice of Customer
  • Maintains clarity on key forums that VoC team participates in across the business – where we show up and how
  • Manages process for and owns drafting of monthly Voice of Customer Update, including:
  • Drafting copy and key takeaways based on narrative provided, including data, analytics, and visualizations.
  • Coordinates across the team to build, review, and publish final content
  • Workback/project management, status, and risks/delays
  • Creation of any necessary supporting docs (PPT, Word)
  • Build final summary email as oft.
  • Leads communication associated with VoC updates, including inputs into other team requests for information, communications, or awareness
  • Manage ad hoc presentation and communications requests as needed (1-2 per month)

Project management:

  • Builds and finalizes a biweekly workstream update for senior leaders (IMS team lead)
  • Manages all up project list and prioritization of projects across the team (leverage 1x weekly meeting) to be used as source of truth and alignment across VoC teams
  • Manages the Voice of Customer team roadmap in partnership and with input from the broader VoC team
  • Manages the team “walking” decks, strategy decks, and ongoing updates required
  • Supports VoC team with key project management responsibilities, including – POR decks, project statuses, next steps, prioritization, and general PM functions – when needed
  • Helps manage calendar and follow up meetings for broader team forums – especially as they relate to key communications/analyses efforts to support the VoC team
  • Builds program templates and “rigor” to rhythm aimed at driving clarity and mobilizing a team to action.
  • Helps build out necessary resources to optimize team efficiency, including standardizing processes, tools, and/or templates.

Required experience:

  • Strong project management skills (experience with SCRUM a plus!)
  • Experience writing executive (EVP, CVP level) communications
  • Experience in writing comms on data, analytics, research teams
  • Experience in translating data/analytics narratives into digestible insights as part of comms roles
  • Strong collaborator & partner
  • Self-starter & not afraid to connect, ask questions, and dive in to learn
  • Comfortable with ambiguity (At times) – *Note: We are a new team, and are defining a lot atm – building the train while driving it

Compensation Range: $50 - $55 HR
This compensation range is indicative of the role. Compensation offered is on the basis of evaluation during interview process, the candidates range and depth of experience, business and market financials and internal pay parity.
