Position Summary

The Data and Analytics Manager develops data recommendations and strategy, demonstrates thoughtful leadership, manages complex projects, builds relationships, recruits and mentors staff, and collaborates with cross-functional teams.

This position reports to Sr Director of IT/OT.

According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

  • Exempt, based on the Professional Exemption


What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with Leadership to execute a robust strategy that integrates data and analytics into all aspects of the organization
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand their problems and goals, gather business requirements, and develop analytical solutions to support their vision and strategy
  • Develop and lead a team of Analysts and BI Developer Analysts with the skills, capabilities, and passions necessary to successfully drive and sustain a data culture
  • Explore existing data and identify causes of poor data quality, implement solutions and communicate findings to employees, management and stakeholders in a timely fashion
  • Lead and execute process and data improvement projects
  • Support data governance vision of common definitions and terminology, rules and guidelines; make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures.
  • Capture and document information about data, such as: definitions, related rules/governance, data lineage, preferred data sources, etc.
  • Create and implement best practices and procedures related to data
  • Focus on automation and utilizing technology to provide repeatable reporting solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a data management role
  • 2+ years of leadership experience with proven ability to develop your team and execute on strategy
  • Proficient in documenting data flows, process flow, and/or workflows using Visio or other diagraming tools
  • Self-starter, who takes the initiative to understand the problem, get to the root cause and layout options for solving challenging data problems
  • Excellent at seeing the big picture and assessing the organizational impact before taking action
  • Strong project management, communication, and prioritization skills


Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at every level in the organization

Preferred

  • Experience with development of Informatica IDQ mappings and business rules
  • Experience with QlikView or QlikSense
  • Hands on experience with SQL or other programming languages


Supervisory Responsibilities

You will provide guidance to a team of people in a data role (Data Specialists, Data Analysts, BI Developer Analysts) and evaluate performance based on determined goals.
