Data Annotations Specialist

Apella is applying computer vision, machine learning and NLP to improve the standard of care in the most critical aspect of healthcare; surgery. We build applications to enable surgeons, nurses, and hospital administrators to deliver the highest quality care. We are looking for detail-oriented people to help train our AI systems to understand the objects and workflow of surgery. This is a fully remote, 6 month contract position. Projects are approximately 25 hours of work a week, offering you flexibility to manage your own schedule. All contractors need to reside in the US.

You have

• An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work effectively
• A deep Interest in new technology and the ability to learn quickly
• Patience and a detail-oriented work habit
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with basic computer skills and web applications
• Ability to adapt to changing workflows and receiving and applying feedback about improvement areas
• Comfortability observing surgery, including but not limited to seeing blood, body parts and code blue’s.

Also great

• Experience working in a regulated industry such as healthcare or finance
• An interest in understanding the provision of healthcare at a deeper level

Responsibilities

• You will use Apella's internal tools to label images and events from operating room videos
• You will be expected to gain a basic understanding of machine learning and computer vision systems data so that you can use this in your daily work
