What You Will Do
The Data Architect role is responsible for defining and implementing the vision, architecture, and designs for Big Data Analytical and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions including information management and integration, and information delivery. In this role you will design, solution develop, and maintain our data warehouse, models, and various applications that support our growing Customer Solutions organization, with an enterprise-wide impact. You will be getting in at the ground level of the Customer Solutions organization, playing a critical role in the growth and development of this team, working daily directly with the business unit, internal stakeholders as you build technical solutions for our sales enablement, operations, pricing, and marketing organizations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the Big Data Analytical/BI architecture activities for the Customer Solutions organization including design and delivery of custom BI solutions (data architecture, data modeling, data storage, database identification, data flow, data factory, data models, physical database implementations, ETL and Report/Query architecture, analytics, dashboards, data discovery, user applications, and platform and tool selection).
- Provide technical oversight to developers, analysts, and data consumers.
- Participate in and/or lead Data and BI Governance activities for Customer Solutions.
- Provide software developers and end users with flexible architectures and models which can be easily utilized and extended.
- Design solutions that ensure data integrity and quality are reliable, scalable, and flexible /extendable.
- Provide technical oversight and mentoring to team members.
- Ensure program teams are collaborating and communicating effectively with the team.
- Ensures best practices are followed in areas such as Data Governance, data modeling, Master Data Management, metadata management.
- May conduct analysis of systems and/or program specifications, identify risks/issues, estimate costs, and develop relevant recommendations.
- Develop, construct / build, and implement technical solutions.
- Participate in the operations, sustainment, production support, maintenance, and enhancement of BI solutions.
- Establish strategic goals by gathering pertinent business needs; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes and executing on the decided path.
- Serve as a key resource for Data Integration and BI projects as directed by the leadership team, including various BI initiatives and business intelligence tools to the various sales teams.
- Participate as a member of the Healthcare Systems Operations Management team to include strategic discussions and initiatives around collaborative business process and larger team goal alignment and incentives.
- Work with a diverse, cross-divisional business community to understand how multiple business processes interact and how the data integrates.
- Make recommendations for BI solutions which address the larger business environment and helps deliver results, create efficiency, and improves process.
- Recommend business process and system changes to improve efficiency and business outcomes
- Develop solutions to complex business intelligence needs to support informed business decisions
- Ensure clear communication between business stakeholders and IS technical teams.
- Develop and deepen relationships with IS partners to ensure goal alignment as well as overarching objective support and collaboration
- Continuously evaluate and drive measurable improvements to processes, platforms, tools, and related technologies; and provide necessary trainings to communicate changes and measure outcomes
- Set, document, and present the BICC roadmap as it relates to new solutions and/or enhancements to existing tools
- Provide insight around business needs to our IS partners to improve the data that enables the BICC to deliver faster and more accurate numbers to our internal customers.
- Generate and submit periodic reports regarding responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree required - Computer Science preferred. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 6 years information services, IS developer, or data analysis experience. Medical manufacturing/healthcare environment preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Data warehousing and Business intelligence tools and technology, focusing on complex business intelligence and data analytics projects, including independent problem-solving within enterprise level business processes.
- Experience with SSIS, Visual Studio, and writing SQL(SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle preferred).
- Working experience with Microsoft Azure Analytics and Power BI.
- Automation experience using VBA or similar languages is preferred.
- Experience with SharePoint and similar platform
- Experience working with ERP systems such as AS400, Oracle, SAP or JDE.
- A background of leading technical projects delivering on business priorities including stakeholder management.
- Use of Agile and DevOps methods to deliver projects and maintain product lifecycles.
- $93,200 - $199,900salary plus bonus eligible + Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Wellbeing Program, Employee Stock Purchase Program). This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on current national data. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
Travel Percentage: 20%
