The Data Architect will play a pivotal role in defining the data architecture roadmap, as well as design, create, deploy and manage Trisept's data architecture on Microsoft Azure infrastructure and determine how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities.
A successful Data Architect will:
- Enjoy being part of an emerging area within the organization, be comfortable with ambiguity, and take pride in their ability to craft the "how" for Trisept Solutions' and Apple Leisure Group's enterprise data & analytics platform
- Have strong working knowledge and proven track record of data & analytics development
- Have previously designed, deployed and supported a Microsoft Azure based data & analytics platform in a production setting
- Use a metrics-driven architecture development approach. Define success measures for architectural roadmap items and demonstrate measurable impact on those success metrics
- Serve as mentor and architectural thought leader for our data engineers and advance their ability, based on your architectural guiding principles, to make their own architectural decisions
- Create an end-to-end vision for how data will flow through the Apple Leisure Group organization
- Continually evaluate Trisept Solutions' competitiveness in the industry as it relates to data, analytics, business intelligence, and advanced analytics/machine learning; and advance our thinking on how to leverage data to achieve the highest business results
- Drive architectural decisions to lay the foundation for any advanced analytics/machine learning initiatives in the future
- Closely collaborate with Trisept's broader architecture group and constantly seek opportunities for improving how our data platform can better integrate with the broader Trisept Solutions' portfolio of products.
A successful Data Architect will have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, MIS, Information Technology, Business or related field; OR five to seven years related experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years in an architecture role within a technology-driven organization
- 3+ years of data & analytics development or comparable experience
- 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure and cloud data solutions, including data ingestion/quality tooling, Azure data lake storage, Azure SQL data warehouse and/or commercial data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Azure analysis services, and visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau
- 1+ years of experience in migrating from on premise to Microsoft Azure-based cloud (PaaS or IaaS)
- 1+ years of experience in architecting advanced analytics capabilities for both predictive enterprise reporting and dedicated data science teams
- Expert knowledge of SQL, query optimization, and Microsoft SQL server
- Expert knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledgeable in data governance topics, and proven ability to design and develop data architecture to support standardized data ingestion/quality, data lineage, and meta and master data (MDM) management by non-technical data stewards
- Knowledgeable in machine learning concepts
- Knowledgeable in technology and agile software development processes
- Knowledgeable in data security practices and working knowledge of PCI, GDPR, CCPA, SOX and other compliance regulations
- Highly effective communication/presentation/ facilitation skills
- Strong persuasion, prioritization and communication skills
Strongly Preferred:
- Proficient in R and Python
- Experience with real-time streaming analytics
- Experience supporting large scale analytical platforms
- Experience in the travel tech industry
- Experience with Lean/Agile development methodologies
- Experience with Microsoft TFS and/or Azure DevOps

- Conflict resolution - Must be not be afraid to tackle difficult topics/conversation and able to successfully facilitate discussion to drive appropriate outcomes, including consideration of different approaches or viewpoints
- Attitude of transparency - Must bring disclosure and transparency to stakeholders and grow trust with colleagues and stakeholders
