The Mastercard Launch program is aimed at early career talent, to help you develop skills and gain cross-functional work experience. Over a period of 18 months, Launch participants will be assigned to a business unit, learn and develop skills, and gain valuable on the job experience.
Mastercard Cyber Secure provides a comprehensive cyber security evaluation for an acquirer's merchants, leveraging RiskRecon's scans of public-facing security features. Acquirers utilize this information to improve the security of their portfolio, and thus of the Mastercard network.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with product and technical teams to understand product, usage, and data pipelines• Gain subject matter knowledge on website design and architecture, web crawling and scraping techniques, and domain registration data. Advise technical teams in accordance with subject matter knowledge. • Competently handle large datasets, sifting for patterns and trends and translate those insights into technical rules and solutions. • Actively participate in machine learning modeling work, including natural language processing, classification modeling, and image detection.• Partner with other teams (e.g., BRAM, Data Strategy, product development, UI/UX) as needed.• Combine security and transaction data into new and insightful views of an acquirer's portfolio.• Craft internal and customer presentation decks to iteratively gather feedback from team members and customer working groups. • Design metrics to track user engagement and other outcomes of interest, with the aim of increasing engagement and improving the security landscape.
This program is embedded in Cyber Products team, which means the Launcher would get exposure to Mastercard's cyber security offerings. Products are marketed to acquirers, issuers, and merchants. On-going data projects coordinate with many new acquisitions, including RiskRecon, Ethoca, and CipherTrace.
Minimum required: • Graduating senior in December 2022 or May 2023 pursuing Bachelor's/Accelerated Master's Degree • Statistics background. Comfortable with data structures and analysis. • Excellent communication skills. • Proficient at understanding problems, asking questions, and proposing solutions. Helpful: • Background knowledge in any of the following: finance, payments, internet architecture, cyber security. • More advanced exposure to statistical modeling, machine learning, or artificial intelligence. • Coding abilities, particularly with SQL and python.
