Data Developer

We are looking for an experienced data engineer to join our team. You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data structures.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in implementing data ingestion and transformation pipelines for large scale organizations. We are seeking someone with deep technical skills in a variety of technologies to play an important role in developing and delivering early proofs of concept and production implementation.

Experience in building solutions using a variety of tools including, but not limited to, Qlik Replicate, Qlik Compose, Snowflake, Matillion, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, and/or Azure storage and integration solutions. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyze data, learn new technologies, and adapt quickly to changes.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Developing SQL queries for data integration and validation.
• Designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using Qlik Replicate, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake's Snowpipe, Qlik Compose and/or other ETL tools.
• Delivering and presenting technology solutions to project stakeholders.
• Developing scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingestion of structured and semi-structured data.
• Integrating the end-to-end data pipeline to take data from source systems to target data repositories ensuring the quality and consistency of data is always maintained.
• Working with event based/streaming technologies to ingest and process data.
• Working with other members of the project team to support delivery of additional project components (API interfaces, search).
• Evaluating the performance and applicability of multiple tools against customer requirements.
• Working within an Agile delivery / DevOps methodology to deliver proof of concept and production implementation in iterative sprints.
• Ability to work off-hours on call

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years data management experience
• Experience in building ETL/data warehouse transformation processes.
• Direct experience of building data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Qlik Replicate, Qlik Compose or similar tool.
• Hands on experience with a cloud database environment such as Snowflake or Azure SQL DB.
• Hands on experience designing and delivering solutions using the Azure Data Analytics platform including Azure Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Stream Analytics.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience working in a Dev/Ops environment with tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Ability to communicate directly with data users.
• Ability to adjust priorities as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer certification preferred.
• Experience with non-relational/NoSQL data repositories such as CosmosDB or Mongo DB.
• Experience in the transportation industry.
• Linux and AIX scripting experience
