Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

We are looking for a Data Developer to help us develop reusable reporting solutions. You will design and implement efficient, reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions to meet our needs while complying with enterprise governed standards and aligning with Moneris' Data Strategy.

Contract Term: 12 months.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a Hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Data Development.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

• Engineer and develop data solutions to support both internal and external client-facing business processes and functional requirements.

• Analyze design specifications, documentation, and requirements and then transform those designs into system capabilities using standard coding tools and processes.

• Document new data mart framework and implement process around the use of data marts.

• Develop complex data marts and stored procedures in a relational database environment.

• Develop recurring reports for business analysis.

• Develop and implement an efficient daily and monthly load log process including notifications of failures and successful load completions.

• Perform database monitoring and work with Database Administrators to optimize database performance.

• Perform analysis of database entities, relationships and attributes to determine efficient design solutions while meeting our needs.

• Identify inefficiencies in current load processes and recommend/implement resolutions.

• Work with Data Engineering and Governance team to ensure standards for code, design, documentation, testing and deployment.

• Research industry trends and best practices; evaluate new technologies, applications, hardware and software, to improve data loads.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

• Bachelor's degree required in Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in a Technology or business environment.

• 4+ years of experience working in developing and following structured work processes in data development or analytics solution design.

• Solid SQL experience in Snowflake, along with SSRS, SSIS, Stored Procedures

• Power BI, Tableau, experience in Snowflake Data Warehouse

• Worked in Cloud Environment (Azure is considered an asset)

• Git, Active Batch

• Python, Py Spark, exposure to Scala, along with exposure to Kafka Technology

• Proficient in programming languages specific to environments and coding experience.

• Excellent ability to design and engineer solutions.

• Knowledge of data management, governance, data design and database architecture. Can access and understand data within a variety of databases and file structures.

• Knowledge of business analytics and performance management principles including KPI and KRI management is considered an asset.
