Job Description
In this role, you can expect to:
The Data Engineer will help support the Customer Support organization's Reporting and Analytics team. This role will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data pipeline architecture and data flow and collection used to support our various systems within ChargePoint.
The Data Engineer will work closely with the Reporting and Analytics team and cross-functionally to ensure systems and services achieve maximum success with low computational cost and high scalability driven by the needs of our clients. The Data Engineer should be collaborative, have excellent listening skills, and have a great work ethic while working on projects of limited complexity. Data engineering projects improve performance, add predictive and prescriptive features to existing data pipelines to add provide actionable recommendations. As needed, the Data Engineer will design and develop new data engineering pipelines to support the Report & Analytics Team. Further, the Data Engineer will help decide how and implement improvements to pipelines, systems, and infrastructure.
The candidate in this Data Engineer role must have an in-depth understanding of data engineering best practices and expertise with the tools needed to debug and diagnose issues with data integrity and quality.
What you bring the ChargePoint Team
- Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processesÂ
- Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies
- Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
- Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
- Working with stakeholders including data, design, product, and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
- Works with Data Scientists and Knowledge Engineers to understand mathematical models and optimize data solutions accordingly.
- Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
- Develop, create, and maintain automated Python scripts using a variety of libraries with a focus on Pandas, Selenium and NumPy
- Experience with GitHub version control for Python and SQL scripts, to improve data reliability and quality methodologies
- Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work.
- Continuous development through training, knowledge share and mentorship programs.
Requirements
- Bachelors or master’s in computer science or equivalent.
- Strong Customer Support fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in data reliability, testing, and quality.
- 7+ years experienced on Data Warehousing Projects, data pipelines with good knowledge of ETL testing.
- Must be proficient in Programming language Python (automation and predictive analytics)
- Advance skill in SQL, RDBMS, NO SQL Databases and DW concepts.
- Experienced in validating Reports/Dashboard on tools like Tableau, etc.
- Good to have knowledge on... AWS glue, S3, Amazon Redshift, Predictive & SQL Unit Testing.
- Great attention to detail with a result driven test approach.
- Self-starter; strong drive, unbiased, growth mindset, commitment, and work ethic; willingness to take on big challenges and own the results from brainstorm to execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Able to influence others effectively.
This role is Mexico, Remote, some of your teammates are in US Arizona time zone and collaborate with organizations in US-Pacific, India, and Amsterdam (CEST) time zones.
