JOB DESCRIPTION

The Enterprise Data group is focused on building a robust data platform which services a diverse set of investment teams and internal clients. The group consists of data sourcing experts, data product specialists, data scientists and data engineers, who are responsible for the discovery, management, and curation of thousands of alpha sources for the firm and our investment professionals. 

The Enterprise Data group is seeking a candidate to join an established data engineering team to help build a next generation data offering for ExodusPoint’s diverse investment teams, varying across asset classes and strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Build applications using Python, SQL, Kafka, AWS, and other related technologies
• Conduct data analysis to assess data quality and drive business decisions
• Design, build, test and deliver data engineering software functionality for data products and applications.
• Contribute to the exploration and understanding of new tools and techniques, and propose improvements to existing technologies
• Communicate with stakeholders on project deliverables

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework towards a master’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Data Science or a related field
• Experience in data analysis, data pipeline orchestration, and data modelling
• Experience with Python and SQL is required. Experience in Linux, Java, and noSQL are a plus
• Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and best practices
• Experience with software lifecycle and version control systems such as git

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with financial datasets and/or enterprise financial vendor data products
• Hands-on experience with AWS native data and compute technologies (S3, Lambda, Glue, DataSync, EMR, Athena, Lake Formation, Kinesis, etc.)
• Experience designing and working with APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.)
• Experience with Apache Kafka or other data streaming technologies.
• Knowledge of developing containerized applications
• Experience with JIRA and Agile project management
