Premier International is hiring an experienced Data Engineer (Contract) to join our growing Data Governance Practice in our Chicago office. Our Data Governance Practice delivers end-to-end business advisory services, implementation, and technical solutions for the Data Governance Lifecycle including Consulting, Metadata Integration, Reference Data Management, Sensitive Data Management, Tool Evaluation, and Product Implementation.
- Design, Implement, and Maintain Data Warehouse environments
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes, pipelines, and workflows
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and analysts, to understand their data needs and support data-related initiatives
- 6+ years of relevant experience in data migration
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Prior experience with Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
- Prior experience with version control systems, GitHub, for code integrity
- Familiarity with cloud Technology, preferably AWS
- Proficiency in developing robust Python applications to support the data warehouse ecosystem
- Proficiency in Python and Spark development/programming with a focus on performance and scalability
- Proficient in SQL, Snowflake Database, Apache Airflow, and Apache Hive Cloud platforms like AWS and/or Google cloud
- Strong analytical mindset and the ability to derive actionable insights from data
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
