The Business Systems Analyst position is within the Global Entity Management and Oversight (GEM&O) Analytics and Business Intelligence (ABI) Team and will be responsible for gathering end user requirements, performing data discovery and research, liaison with end users and data engineers to discuss findings or opportunities to enhance the data sets, and providing technical consultation and guidance. The person we are seeking must be self-motivated and analytical, with proven experience influencing and effectively communicating across the organization. He or she should have proven data analysis skills along with the ability to build relationships, partner with key stakeholders and work cross-functionally to drive time sensitive deliverables, track risks and issues and see work thru to completion.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to understand business problem and provide feasible solution meeting PayPal domain & technology requirements. Engage with business users on proof-of-concept efforts.
- Work with business partners and subject matter experts to fulfill key performance drivers that will support business operations and GEM&O reporting efforts. Build expertise on data relevant to subject area.
- Create and document solution(s) of low to medium complexity to meet end user requirements, including documentation of systems specifications. Conduct quality assurance testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed.
- Partner with other GEM&O teams to offer insights and opportunities to adjust priorities, processes, and documentation.
- Support special projects and initiatives: special projects vary from strategic initiatives to day-to-day operations. Support needs will vary by project and will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced environment and with cross-functional teams, should have appetite to learn and be flexible to pick up new technology.
Core Duties:
- Building performance efficient, highly scalable, configurable solutions spanning multiple technologies and platforms - Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, Tableau, MicroStrategy, H20.
- Create SQL queries to troubleshoot, develop metrics and create ad-hoc reporting as needed; data systems understanding is expected, specifically Teradata, Tableau, and Hive/Hadoop.
- Identify potential solutions, shortlist, and compare them. Finalize the solution by collaboration with business.
- Analyze and understand core business processes and data flows to provide solution offerings that are scalable, repeatable and effective.
- Assist internal customers with acceptance testing and adoption.
- Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- Analysis of pre/post of issues, and creation success measures to determine success of various projects
- Documentation of processes, and technical flows
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 4+ years of reporting and analytics experience
- Experience in financial services industry preferred
- BS/BA Degree or educational equivalent
- Knowledge of SQL and one or more of these DB's - Teradata, Hive, Hadoop, Oracle, MySQL, H20 is a plus.
- Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools is a plus
- Experience working with Python is a plus
- Experience with analytical tools is a plus
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, conscientious, thorough, and accurate
- Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and client service-oriented attitude and mindset
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation skills)
- Proven ability to function well independently as well as in a team
- Ability to prioritize deliverables and projects to meet timelines efficiently, to adapt to changes in priorities quickly and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously to drive projects to completion and deliver quality materials under tight deadlines
- Agile / Scrum experience preferred
