Data Engineer

Position Description

Assured Guaranty is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our talented team.  As a Data Engineer, you will be expected to design and implement data pipeline and integration solutions that provide highly accessible, secure, and accurate data for the company.  We are looking for an experienced person with a passion for technology and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders across the firm to build out a modern data infrastructure.  Responsibilities will include:

• Implement enterprise data integration solutions from inception to completion
• Design and implement scalable, robust data pipelines and storage solutions in a variety of technologies and programming languages
• Review existing data pipelines to determine overall effectiveness
• Develop comprehensive strategies for improving or replacing under-performing solutions
• Perform data analysis and build effective data models

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role
• Strong python skills and experience required
• Experience with a wide variety of data platforms including relational (Snowflake, SQL Server), No-SQL (MongoDB), and unstructured
• Experience with the building data pipelines with a variety of technologies including KafkaProven ability to build data integration solutions including batch and near real time
• Experience with Data Warehousing including Data Vault and Star Schema patterns
• Some experience applying AI methodologies a plus (generative AI, Machine Learning, Predictive models, etc)
• Knowledge of fixed income, insurance, and private investing would be beneficial

Compensation

Annual base salary for the position is expected to be from $145,000 per year to $165,000 per year. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience and credentials, salary expectations of applicable candidates, and other applicable market conditions. This position also provides applicable employee benefits, as well as eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and long-term incentive awards.
