Data Engineer

RyzLabs is looking for a Data Engineer for one of our clients dedicated to the music industry. You’ll be designing, developing and managing the pipelines backing across musical and financial metadata, and helping build out a core data set that spans the entire music industry. You will also be reporting to the CTO and will be collaborating with the executive team to ensure the success of our strategy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy scalable, efficient systems for our music copyright platform.
• Design and build large-scale distributed systems that can process massive amounts of external data and integrate it into products to meet client requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align technical strategies with business goals.
• Develop features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant manner.
• Understand the intricacies of music copyright and music metadata standards in the United States and around the world.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a data engineer building out core, high-volume datasets and supporting engineers, data scientists and PMs who need to use that data.
• Care about designing schemas to bridge messy data and long-term business goals.
• Experience shipping scalable data solutions in the cloud (e.g AWS, GCP, Azure) across multiple data stores (e.g Snowflake, Postgres, S3)
• SQL expert able to write highly performant queries and leverage more advanced features like window functions, UDFs, etc.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, ECS, EMR.
• Experience supporting ML training data pipelines (plus)
• Love of music is a plus! Especially knowledge of music composition and publishing
