This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Management Level Definition:

Works on complex problems where data engineering requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives

What you’ll do:

• Analyze and organize raw data. 
• Build data systems and pipelines.
• Monitors the pipeline for data quality.
• Interpret trends and patterns.
• Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive Modeling.
• Combine raw information from different sources.
• Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and deployments on Production systems.

What you need to bring:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) required, preferably in computer science, engineering, or related area of study.
• Typically, 1-2 years of relevant experience

Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced understanding of modern software development methodologies
• In-depth understanding of SQL and relevant scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Go
• Understanding of different Event streaming technologies like Kafka, Mulesoft, or Pub & Sub
• Understanding of tools used for building data pipelines like Vector (Data Pipeline Technology – Open Source) or other Data engineering tools.
• Understanding of DEVOPS tools like Docker or Kubernetes
• Understanding of storage and processing systems like Hadoop/Vertica
• Understanding of security standards and best practices
