Data Engineer

Optiver is looking for a Data Engineer to join our Systematic Trading team. This opportunity will allow you to be at the forefront of our research process, harnessing the power of data to drive our trading strategies. What you’ll do:

Our Data Engineers sit at the intersection of research, trading and technology. They own high-impact projects that span across these domains, driving our firm's success. As a Data Engineer at Optiver you will: 

• Develop and maintain backtesting and simulation frameworks
•  Drive the generation of our features and research datasets
• Utilize your problem-solving skills to transform trading opportunities into data-driven solutions
•  Take an active role in implementing and monitoring enhancements to our trading strategies

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field 
• Advanced in Python scripting with experience using data packages
• Familiarity with diverse data storage formats 
• Proficiency using Linux operating system
• Experience handling large and diverse datasets 
• Proactive problem-solving and effective communication skills
• Ability to make pragmatic decisions, considering short and long-term trade offs
• Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening.
