Data Engineer

As a part of this position, you’ll be able to: 

• Develop and maintain databases of all different types as well as APIs using Amazon’s tools such as EMR, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, etc.
• Create data pipelines
• Perform cloud-based infrastructure deployments
• Create tools and automation to enable data flow and model performance monitoring 
• Lead various phases involved in development of a project from prototyping to productionizing

 Required Qualifications 

• Minimum of 3 years working in software engineering team setting
• Minimum of 2 years using scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript)
• Minimum of 1 year developing cloud-based infrastructure
• Familiarity with building data pipelines to process and visualize data
• Experience creating backend APIs, ideally with AI integrations
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure, especially AWS
• Experience with feature engineering, outlier detection, and cleaning raw/missing data
• Able to manage databases with a variety of data types
• Eager to learn both open-source and proprietary technologies
• Able to work well independently and in small group settings
• Strong problem-solving skills and creativity
• Able to work well independently and in small group settings 
• This role will be 100% onsite Monday through Friday based out of Irvine, CA.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Business Intelligence Tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI 
• Experience with Big Data platforms (e.g. Hadoop, Hive)
• Experience working with PHP
• DevOps experience 
• Experience developing containerized applications using a container runtime such as Docker 
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
