Job profile summary

Exciting opportunity to discover and create new value for Allison Transmission within Data Analytics team. In this pivotal role, the candidate will be combining internal and external data sources enabling data analysts to create business-relevant insights. The candidate will be able to orchestrate data pipelines, create new schemas and propose unique ways to efficiently combine multiple data sources enabling data driven decision-making for internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract and manipulate large amount of data in Python, PySpark and SQL to combine data sources and consistently expand digital footprint of Allison products
• Deploy and orchestrate data pipelines in cloud environment (e.g. Azure, Databricks) to feed dashboards, while retaining proper documentation and version control practices
• Support data delivery for data analysts and data scientists feeding business related KPI indicators without impacting day-to-day operation for internal stakeholders
• Ease of proposing new ways to do everyday business, proposing new schema design and data modeling, while documenting data discrepancy and executing data pipeline improvements
• Perform automated testing following modern software development practices for data consistency and version control
• Understand challenges of integration with external services and API protocols
• Ease to work with ambiguity and vaguely defined requirements

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or STEM related field.
• Proficiency in efficient data manipulation in Python and SQL
• 2-5 years' experience in larger company developing data pipelines with CI/CD automation.
• Familiarity with data staging and life cycle management with focus on value creation
• Ingenious and curious mind, comfortable with occasional ambiguity and Agile development process
• Travel less than 5% of time, mainly professional conferences to keep up with the latest development in the field

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with ML libraries (scikit-learn) and tools (Data Factory, Synapse)
• Familiarity with Geospatial analytics GIS tools (GeoPandas)
• Open to learn new things and challenge status quo
