The Role

As a Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining Abound’s internal ETL systems and data pipelines. You’ll be a valuable part of our engineering team, working cross-functionally to provide a reliable, current and queryable data system for analysts and internal services to use.

What You’ll Do

• Implement and maintain a modern ETL system that automates the data flow and transformation of data from multiple data sources
• Perform data quality check on extracted data
• Create reports and dashboards that make complex data easily consumable by the users
• Debugging and optimizing performance of queries, data pipelines, reports and dashboards
• Assist in internal analytics meetings to unblock data challenges
• Collaborate cross-functionally with analysts and services teams to deliver critical insights and support internal products

Successful Candidates Will Have:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with ETL systems
• Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining ETL systems and data pipelines
• Strong coding skills with Python and SQL
• Strong understanding of data architecture, modeling and infrastructure
• Experience with AWS Ecosystem, especially Redshift, DynamoDB and S3
• Familiarity with data visualizations tools (e.g. Tableau) 
• Strong quantitative and communication skills
• Experience working in a fast-growing startup is highly desirable
