Role Summary
Transform today's manufacturing by developing new and unique data-driven solutions using Big Data platforms, creative analytical methods, and data visualization techniques.
Key Responsibilities
  • We are building fully connected systems to achieve operational excellence - help us transform today's manufacturing by:
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and other analysts to develop new and unique data-driven solutions using Big Data platforms, creative analytical methods, and data visualization techniques (Data Modeling etc.)
  • Connect and build pipelines between various data sources
  • Support operational improvement and business decision making through ad-hoc statistical analysis of curated enterprise data and self-constructed data sets
  • Ability to support multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses
  • Lead BI software development, deployment, and maintenance
  • Document contents in a data warehouse and meta-data storage
  • Create technical documentation for BI tools
  • Data model and develop KPI dashboards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Acting with honesty and integrity and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna's Compliance Policies and Procedures

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education - Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience Education
  • Preferred: Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Years of Experience: Minimum three (3) years of related experience required Supervisory
  • Experience: None Licenses and Certifications: None Other Skills/Experience
  • Required:
    • Expert in SQL
    • Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports
    • Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data sets
    • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
    • Additional Requirements:
    • Demonstrate the ability to document steps in a process and make technology recommendations to improve the process
    • Knowledgeable of statistical methods such as regression, probability analysis, risk analysis, statistical process control, and clustering is desired
    • Implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models
    • Data and business analysis background
    • Strong experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. NoSQL databases experience is a plus
    • Experience with user-defined workflows - Problem solver that is action-oriented with the ability to look at problems in new ways.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to design an effective solution - Familiarity with BI technologies (ex., Microsoft Power BI, AWS Quicksight, Qlikview)
    • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (ex: Python, R, JavaScript, C#, Java, etc.)
