Job Description
SUMMARY
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using Azure services. With strong expertise in Azure Cloud, the Data Engineer will work closely with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data solutions are aligned with business objectives and requirements.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure in Azure Cloud ensuring data quality and accessibility.
- Develop data models and schemas to support business requirements.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency through effective data validation, testing, and monitoring to support the data-driven decision-making processes.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into technical requirements.
- Implement auditing mechanisms and access controls to ensure compliance with Arete's data security and privacy policies.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to data pipelines, data models, and other related processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in Azure Cloud and data engineering.
- May perform other duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
- Understanding of software design patterns.
- Knowledge of version control tools such as Git.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for data engineering and a drive to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and data consumers.
JOB REQUIRMENTS
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes especially with Azure Cloud Technology Tools.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL and/or other DBMS platforms.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Experience in documenting technical designs, processes, and data flows.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Travel within or outside of the state.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Arete salary and benefit policy.
FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY
Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
