Data Engineer

We're looking for a Data Engineer to develop data engineering solutions to support and make data more available across multiple teams and products. You will also design and automate our data engineering products that will have a large impact on the engineering team's day to day operations. We are at the forefront of disrupting the direct-to-consumer industry, and you have the opportunity to be part of this process.

NOTE: This role is based in NYC. Forum Brands operates a flexible, hybrid office policy in which employees are expected to be in-person at least three days per week.*

What you'll do:

• Collaborate on creating database schemas that represent and support the Live Product Team and Data Science Team
• Work across the engineering team to extract, load, and transform data from a wide variety of sources for various applications
• Introduce new cutting edge technology to improve processes, and ideate, prototype, and production-ize data workflows to improve Forum Brands' products, services, customer experience, and more
• Automate and maintain ETL operations within a cloud environment

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience as a Data Engineer in similar organizations
• Ability to write complex, optimized queries across large volumes of data
• Proficient with SQL and programming experience in Python, Java or other backend languages
• Good understanding of RDBMS systems (PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift, SQL Server, etc.)
• Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processes
• Strong analytical skills to review systems and code to identify issues or areas for improvement
• Experience with Git and version control
• Experience with Spark and other ETL libraries
• Experience with working with AWS Glue

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with GraphQL
• Experience with Airflow
• Experience with Hadoop and the overall Apache Ecosystem
• Experience processing and cleansing data for AI/ML purposes
• Experience with a data visualization tool (e.g. Power BI, Looker, etc) Experience with Agile Methodologies and Tools such as Jira, Asana or Monday
