Job Description

How will you make an impact?

As a Data Engineer you will be a member of our MiLo Labs working to build and refine a strategy for a state-of-the-art data and analytics solution while working across the business to deliver a new level of analytics capabilities using new advanced tools, data and technologies.

Job responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with Information Governance, Data Science and Data Science Analyst teams to build and maintain reliable and efficient data engineering pipelines using continuous integration approaches
• Participate in the continuous development and refinement of reliability, efficiency, quality of data acquisition that support sophisticated analytical research, modeling, and data visualizations
• Conduct assessments of data engineering code set, stack and procedures, tools, and framework, identifying strengths and limitations from transparency, computing efficiency, scalability, and reliability perspective.
• Participate in the design, construction, test, and maintenance of dev ops architectures
• Collaborate with Information Governance to standardize development, cataloging and documentation

Do you have what it takes?

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Operations Research, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Experience using SQL and Database Systems like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Basic understanding of massive data processing in parallel in a distributed computing environment like Hive/Hadoop, Impala, Netezza, Teradata, Vertica, etc.
• Proficiency in data and development tools/languages such as Python, Scala, Pyspark, Spark
• Basic experience interfacing with Linux environments via the command line
• Experience working with systems of collaborative code reviews, version control like Git, GitLab, GitHub

Preferred

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Operations Research, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Experience with public cloud platforms and their managed services i.e. Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD and containerization
• Experience with creating data product/pipelines and leading them to deployment
