Data Engineer

The Data Engineer will be joining a team of data engineers and data scientists building a data platform from the ground up.  As a core technical contributor to OTR Solutions' data modernization, the Data Engineer will have expertise in developing, constructing, testing and maintaining modern data architectures.  The Data Engineer will also work closely with data scientists in preparing data for ML modeling and analytics dashboards.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop, construct, test and maintain modern data architectures 
• Prepare data for use in predictive and prescriptive modeling 
• Provide support for Data Analytics team using Tableau and other reporting tools 
• Perform requirements analysis, detail design, troubleshooting, source code construction, system testing, integration testing and implementation for reports. 
• Create, update, and maintain system based on incoming change requests and break-fixes. 
• Interact with team members when developing interfaces and researching and troubleshooting technical issues. 

What we look for:

• Experience designing and building cloud-native data platforms 
• Experience developing a secure integration strategy with external partners 
• Experience building ETLs and data pipelines  
• Experience with cloud native data stores on Azure   
• Experience with Azure Data Factory 
• Expert knowledge of SQL & SQL Server 
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements 
• Able to manage multiple projects and deliver high quality deliverables by deadlines 
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to learn quickly 
• Strong communication skills 
• Excellent teaming skills
