The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to develop new features and expand existing features of our products while maintaining and improving our data pipeline system. This includes monitoring, ensuring data quality, and providing accurate data to inform team decisions and customer performance analytics. The role involves building features, performing maintenance, and continuously enhancing the system.

The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with 2-3 years of experience specifically in Data Engineering. This person also has experience with the modern data engineering technologies listed below and demonstrates a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and collaboration. A background in fintech, e-commerce, or the AI startup space is a bonus but not required. The role offers significant ownership, freedom to lead with curiosity, explore, and innovate.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with other teams to design and develop new features and expand existing ones in our data pipeline system.
• Improve data quality and monitoring by learning the existing system and implementing enhancements.
• Establish standard processes for data ingestion and management.
• Monitor data quality and ensure accuracy for team decisions and customer performance analytics.
• Build and maintain data infrastructure and pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• 2-3 years of experience specifically in Data Engineering, open to candidates with a traditional Backend Engineering background but have projects related to and have strong interests in Data Engineering.
• Background in fintech or e-commerce is a bonus but not required.
• Experience with modern data engineering technologies such as ETL/ELT, data model design, and infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, dbt, Airflow/Dagster/Prefect, Glue, S3, Redshift, and Spark.
• Proven ability to develop your own scalable products and applications from scratch.
• Interest in building robust pipelines that are mission-critical for our business.
• Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and collaborative spirit.
• Ability to take feedback well and work effectively within a team.
