Job Description

We're looking for a Data Engineer with experience in migration projects for Google Cloud Platform. The project requires assistance in setting up an infrastructure foundation on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and transitioning the existing legacy data lake to a more manageable, scalable, and secure cloud-based data lake. This new data lake should provide the data analytics capabilities needed to meet their expanding requirements. 

Responsibilities

• Help assess, design, plan, and migrate the existing on-premise or cloud data lake to Google Big Query;

Evaluate the present system, including workflows, data pipelines, schemas, and reports. Emphasize the following areas:

• Data Governance;
• ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes;
• Job orchestration and scheduling requirements;
• Tooling strategy (including end-of-life support);
• Plans for continuous integration across applications;
• Business units and teams utilizing data solutions;
• Current technical state of the analyzed areas;
• Desired future state for data transformation, data lake or data analytics.

Qualifications

• Higher education in business/computer science/related field;
• Minimum 4 years of experience with: BigQuery, Data Flow, SQL and Python;
• Knowledge of English language at a B2/C1 level. 

Additional Information

• Work model: 100% Remote based on Poland;
• Type of contract: B2B
• Start: 09/2024
• Rate: up to 130 PLN/h net + vat;
• Duration of the project: 4 months + possible extension.
