Data Engineer I
Job Description
Lovelytics is seeking a Data Engineer to join our professional services organization and support delivering exciting data engineering and Databricks engagements!
This level-1 engineer is a client-facing role that will primarily focus on participating in engagements with clients related to data warehousing, ETL development, data integrations, and data modeling. In addition to the technical capabilities for this role, we are looking for someone who wants to work in a collaborative, dynamic, and inclusive environment and has a passion for bringing meaning to data.
Role Location: Arlington, VA, or Remote in the US (AZ, MD, DC, CA, IA, ID, IN, MA, NC, SC, TX, TN, GA, CO, NY, NJ, VA, FL, PA, WA, OH, ME, OR) and Ontario, Canada
This role is not eligible for sponsorship at this time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize current and develop the technical and communication skills to be able to successfully work in a client-facing project environment
- Support data integration efforts using cloud services
- Participation in basic data pipeline projects in collaboration with other consultants
- Actively contributed to data warehousing initiatives
- Apply your skills with Databricks, using Python, and SQL to client projects across different industries and problems
- Collaborate with other team members to deliver on projects ranging in size
- Communicate professionally and effectively with both internal and external teams
Our Ideal Candidate's Skills and Experiences:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- 1-2Â years of professional experience in data engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a desire to grow as a professional consultantÂ
- Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts and hands-on experience deploying pipelines using Databricks and/or Spark
- Exposure to cloud platforms: basic knowledge of Databricks, Azure, and AWS services
- Proficiency in programming languages: Writing and debugging Python, SQL, and possibly Scala code.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts
