As a core member of Accolade’s data platform team, you will be helping with designing, building, and delivering cloud-native, service-oriented products to meet the growth trajectory of the company in data ingestion, processing, and business intelligence needs. You are expected to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into world-class software with the latest technologies.

A day in the life…

We are seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. In your role, you will be responsible for helping with the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data platform infrastructure that supports current and future data use cases. This includes managing the compute and storage resources, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues that arise.

• Help with designing and implementing of a scalable data platform infrastructure to support current and future data use cases which is based on AWS stack and modern 3rd party technologies, e.g., Databricks

• Work closely with data scientists and developers to understand their requirements and optimize the infrastructure accordingly

• Collaborate with other teams to ensure the smooth integration of the data platform with other systems and applications

• Configure and manage platform resources including clusters, nodes, and disks

• Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues

• Automate processes and workflows to improve efficiency.

What we are looking for…

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 2-3 years of experience in data processing or building data infrastructure

• Understanding of cloud computing and some previous experience with some of AWS data stack (S3, EMR, RDS, DynamoDB, Kinesis / Kafka, Redshift, Elasticsearch, SQS, SNS)

• Good knowledge of Python and/or other programming languages

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Experience with scalable distributed data processing technologies, e.g., Spark is a plus

• Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning concepts is a plus.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
