Job Description:

SUMMARY

A data engineering position to develop customer-facing software-as-a-service (SaaS) data solutions hosted on Microsoft Azure. The software stack includes Angular, C#, .NET, .NET Core for the web service layer, and Python, Scala, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, SQL and Delta Lake for the data infrastructure layer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions for the Black Knight customer base.
• Design and implement feature-level programming tasks and associated automated testing.
• Interact with product managers and/or users to determine business and technical requirements.
• Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
• Lead and participate in software design meetings and code reviews.
• Assist and help train entry-level software engineers.
• May be responsible for developing and executing project plans, schedules, and documenting work and results.
• May deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically requires five (7) or more years of data engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in enterprise data warehouse and database design in SQL Server or PostgreSQL. Strong understanding of table, query, and index optimization.
• Experience with a modern ETL/ELT framework and environment, such as Spark and Databricks.
• Experience with data analysis and data visualization in Python.
• Experience with enterprise software development in C#, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with modern software development practices, such as automated testing, CI/CD, Git source control, and Agile/Scrum.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A broad range of experience in data engineering using technologies and languages such as Scala, Databricks, Delta Lake (or other NoSQL platforms), Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, and SSRS.
• Experience with enterprise architecture design practices, such as OOP, SOLID, class models, design patterns, and sequence diagrams.
• Experience with data science and machine learning in the Python ecosystem is preferred.
• Experience working with cloud-based architectures, specifically in Microsoft Azure.
