Data Engineer Intern

The opportunity

We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to join the Corporate Data & Analytics team at Unity. Our focus is to build and serve data products, which empower teams across the company to know our customers and deliver the best experience for all our users who aspire to create & grow content in real-time 3D, from games to movies, architecture, and beyond.

We are building an offering of data, tools and APIs as an internal product offering for other teams at Unity to independently and effectively use data for analysis and reporting. You will build and maintain our data pipelines, develop and improve ETL workflows and ensure the reliability and scalability of our data infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and implement data solutions, processes and API’s that enable business teams to analyze and operationalize data.
• Translate product and business needs to technical specifications and design documents.
• Implement scheduled processes, monitoring and alerts for easy and safe usage of the data.
• Work closely with the infrastructure team to demonstrate foundational capabilities for data application layers.
• Exploring our vast data sets to identify and investigate new opportunities and efficiencies

What we’re looking for

• Student currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, data analytics, business intelligence, or equivalent and returning to the degree program after the completion of the internship for at least one semester.
• Experience with SQL and at least one programming language (i.e. Python, Java or Scala)
• Strong understanding of ETLs, data modeling, and cloud based data platforms
• Ability to explain technical concepts and analysis clearly to a wide audience, as well as translate sometimes ambiguous data requests into clear action items and requirements
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Additional information 

Gross Pay (USD): $32.50 - $43.00 Hourly

*Note: Certain locations require a good faith disclosure of the base pay for the role. The actual base pay for the successful candidate may differ based on location and level.

Relocation support is not available for this position.
