We’re looking for a Data Expert to join our DAAS (Data as a Service) team and win over customers in the right industries with the appropriate use cases. This role will report to the Director of DAAS.

Why is this role so important at Similarweb?

The DaaS Data Expert role is an integral part of our DaaS team that works closely with our GTM organization. We support our sales team with in-depth data expertise and operational support to win over customers in the right industries and with the appropriate use cases.

You’ll collaborate with our Investor sales team and support technical data questions (regarding availability, methodology, or use cases of our data), conduct internal training, prepare & conduct demos, workshops and events with clients, and interact with other Similarweb teams to win more business for the DaaS solutions. You’ll serve as the DaaS Data Expert to whom our Investor Sales Organization will turn for guidance to drive the deal home. Ideally, the DaaS data expert will mainly lead the bigger, more complex deals of the high-end of data professionals within our customers and prospects.  

You'll represent Similarweb’s DaaS motion externally and reside as the DaaS evangelist, through conferences, events and other multi-participants gatherings, where we would advocate for Similarweb’s vast capabilities in the fields of Non-UI data delivery. This motion is helping our Sales force maintain intelligent discussions with data professionals on our customers / prospects end. 

The DaaS Data Expert mission will be have two main objectives:

  1. Support larger, more complex deals to close (Since DaaS requires flexibility in the selling process, this is more of a consultative selling that requires a consultative process with prospects to better understand the pains and tailor-make the right deal for them. This needs to be done with a high degree of connection to the prospects and customers together with the sales reps, and a very deep understanding of our data catalog and the ability to connect data pieces together to create newer insights and KPIs).
  2. Build demand for SMWB DaaS externally, way before a deal is constructed, through leading one-to-many events  

So, what will you be doing all day?

Your role as part of the DAAS team means your daily responsibilities may include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of Similarweb’s DaaS product & Data offerings, inner workings and navigating of cross-functional teams to resolve customer needs during the sales cycle.
  • Developing a deep understanding of use cases for DaaS products, and help connect the dots to craft solutions that match the needs of our diverse customer base, based on understanding of the data structure
  • Acting as the main point of contact to conduct detailed research that helps Sales team members move deals forward by identifying customer business goals, pains and requirements. 
  • Periodical client visits to further understand paints, and vet solutions 
  • Participation in high-caliber, complex deals as a consultant to the customer, crafting together the right solution and package for them, while identifying big opportunities for SMWB 
  • Creating strategic and technical sales strategies, presentations and product demonstrations for Strategic prospects and customers
  • Supporting the Sales team with the technical and functional aspects of the sales process by interfacing with technical resources on the customer side, as well as working in tandem with solutions product team on DaaS team. 
  • Working cross-functionally with other parts of the organization, including Product Management, Marketing and Sales to identify new product requirements.
  • Evangelizing, representing Similarweb in the market as a significant DaaS company 
  • Attending events and outbound marketing activities - being the external ‘face’ of SMWB DaaS 
  • Identifying Data marketplace partnership opportunities (non-revenue generating) and execute together with our partnership team towards its’ completion. 

This is the perfect job for someone who has:

  • 7+ years of data science/engineering background with real proficiency in data 
  • Experienced leading as a people manager.
  • Deep know-how of how data delivery and data sales work.
  • Over two years of commercial experience, ideally in data deals and solution consulting, sales, or account management experience in B2B DaaS 
  • A PLUS - experience in data partnerships 
  • In depth understanding of the B2B sales landscape & digital data industry
  • Experience with Salesforce for CRM, forecasting, planning and management
  • Motivated self-starter mentality, requiring little direction and thrives working in a lean, fast paced environment
  • Experience in Python, SQL, Excel proficiency - a must; R - a plus 
  • A positive and optimistic, can-do attitude 
  • A great presenter who excels in building relationships with customers

The base salary range for this position in New York City is $116,480 to $193,170 + benefits including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, potential equity, employee stock purchase plan and paid sick and parental leave.

Individual compensation is based upon a number of factors, including qualifications and relevant experience.

The base salary range above is for the New York City metro area, and could vary for candidates in other locations.
