ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a Data Engineer with multiple years of experience to join the Data Team! Individual reports to Senior Manager, Data Engineering. Role is remote - must reside in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Data Engineer is a hybrid business-technical role responsible for the development, and enhancement of ELT/ETL processes & components of data pipelines to support analysis, reporting, analytics, and data science.

 Your usual day of awesomeness includes: 

  • Create, validate, and/or update source-to-target maps, and update and maintain metadata repositories/dictionaries.  
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to recommend and improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Proactively provide & contribute by defining areas of opportunities to catalog, and maintain, definitions, and standards. Provide recommendations for data policy, standards, and procedure development processes.
  • Focus on data quality-detect data/analytics quality issues all the way down to the root cause and implement fixes including data audits to prevent/capture such issues.
  • Ensure high data quality and availability by partnering with stakeholders from the infrastructure, network, database, application, and business intelligence teams to identify the lifecycle of data to consult/recommend process changes to implement. 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Expert Level skills in Python, and PySpark.
  • Strong Experience in AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, and S3.
  • Expertise in ELT/ETL, data services/pipelines, and cloud warehouse, infrastructure components and reporting/analytics tools.
  • Experience with Snowflake preferred.
  • Hands On Experience with big data processing technologies (Spark, Hadoop/MapReduce, etc.).
  • Experience with automation frameworks/tools (Git/Bit, Terraform).
  • A product-focused mindset with the ability to understand business requirements and architect systems that will scale and extend to accommodate those needs.
  • Ability to work through a problem logically, identify root causes, provide practical effective solutions while being detail and process-oriented.
  • Excellent written, visual, and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with key business and/or technical partners clearly and succinctly.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information management, engineering, or a related field preferred.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 - $130,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, incentive stock options and company paid holidays.  The specific programs and options available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
