The Team:

The mission of the CTRL (Control Functions Engineering) Team is to keep Clear Street responsible and trustworthy. The team treats our internal finance and compliance teams as a customer, and is in charge of designing and building the best possible tech platform to support them. The team is vertically focused on solving finance and compliance needs for prime brokerage, and building solutions that could eventually serve these needs not just for our own operations but for anyone.  Our tech stack includes Python, Snowflake, Argo, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes.

You Will:

• Partner with our Finance team as your primary stakeholder to build the team’s section of the data warehouse, including data warehousing, loading, and transformation pipelines and Python-based reporting jobs.

• Build systems and tools that empower the Finance team to solve their own problems to the largest extent possible.
• Work with finance to help them best model their domain in the data warehouse, and build the pipelines to collect and transform source data into these domain models.
• Partner with other engineers and stakeholders across the organization to understand complex data-related issues and seek effective compromises.

• Collaborate with a team of engineers and data specialists to productionize our reporting and analytics, turning prototypes and one-off projects into elegant long lasting solutions. 
• Help mentor teammates, evolve our technical standards and best practices, and further our culture of system designs and data pipeline architecture.

Skills We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience designing and architecting data processing and warehousing systems that deliver solutions to complex data problems.
• Experience utilizing Python and SQL skills and software development best practices to build reporting and automate workflows across operations and engineering.
• A data modeling pro; you understand how to create unified definitions of types from different source data representations.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas with ease and always look to collaborate to deliver high quality products.
• Experience working in the finance industry.

Bonus Points:

• Experience working on finance reporting or accounting systems.
• Familiarity with any of: AWS, Kubernetes, Snowflake.
• Experience or familiarity with prime brokerages and capital markets.

We are considering Mid and Senior Level candidates for this role. The Mid Level Base Salary Range is $140,000 - $190,000. The Senior Level Base Salary Range is $170,000 - $240,000. These ranges are representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.
