Let's talk about the team
Propeller's Data Engineering team work closely with Platform, Applications and BI/Analytics engineers, products, and other stakeholders to support the overall company's data and analytics strategy and services. The team develop automated data pipelines, data transformations, data lakes and data warehouse in cloud for both internal and external clients to enable data driven insights and strategy for business.

You will Join a talented and independent team to find creative solutions to respiratory and other chronic diseases at scale, shape how we apply data to help patients, contribute to patient-facing production systems driven by real customer needs.
Let's talk about the role
As a Data Engineer, you will help internal and external consumers to leverage the data generated by our hardware and software. You will share in the ownership of our data infrastructure, from ingress through transformation and access/integration. You will work cross-functionally with infrastructure, platform services, product, and other teams to enable productionalized ML models, product applications, API resources, automated reporting, and clinical analyses. Data is the primary source of value for patients and our partners, and through the maintenance and augmentation of these pipelines, you will contribute to the improved outcomes for patients and Propeller's commercial success.
- Support new internal and external use cases for our data infrastructure and contribute to determination of the best data resources for a given purpose
- Contribute to maintenance and augmentation of the ETL
- Translate business priorities and data team needs into engineering initiatives and execute in coordination with the rest of data engineering
- Work closely with others on the data engineering team to design and implement efficient and comprehensive pipelines
- Contribute to the scalability of both data infrastructure and team processes, standards, and workflow
- Support QA to ensure a high standard of quality at all levels of the analytics pipeline, ranging from operational efficiency of the ETL to the accuracy of data reporting
Let's talk about you
- Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Biology, Computer Science, or other relevant field
- 1-2 years of experience working as a member of a digital engineering team
- 1-2 years of experience in data engineering or related role, or equivalent academic experience
- Expertise in Python (most critical) & PySpark
- Expertise in developing scalable ETLs and data pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, Redshift, S3
- Proficiency in Terraform and/or deploying infrastructure as code
It would be a plus if you have
- SQL
- Familiarity with shell scripts
- Familiarity with Tableau/BI tooling
