Data Engineer Snowflake ETL

Introduction
As an ETL Data Engineer Specialist with our Financial Client you will be working in a team environment seeking to be innovative efficient and product focused. This team reviews analyzes and modifies programming systems using DataStage ETL Python DBT and migration with snowflake
On your day to day activities you will:
Mentor and continuously learn and grow with the team as we seek to improve our coding practices and evolve our engineering culture.
Develop maintainable and high-quality software by integrating automation tests and following best practices as laid out by the team.
Participates in code/design reviews and learning technical design. Begin learning business and technical strategies.
Assist in communicating technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicate business objectives to the technical team.
Involved in regular meetings with both onshore and near shore teams and setting up priorities.
Trouble-shooting and resolution of production issues and implementation of alternatives across enterprise initiatives.
Supporting applications by monitoring jobs in production environment deploying new and existing components throughout the client environments understand business requirements in order to define the final scope and acquire the ability to translate it into technical code.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer at IBM you will harness the power of data to unveil captivating stories and intricate patterns. You’ll contribute to data gathering storage and both batch and real-time processing.

Collaborating closely with diverse teams you’ll play an important role in deciding the most suitable data management systems and identifying the crucial data required for insightful analysis. As a Data Engineer you’ll tackle obstacles related to database integration and untangle complex unstructured data sets.

In this role your responsibilities may include:

Implementing and validating predictive models as well as creating and maintain statistical models with a focus on big data incorporating a variety of statistical and machine learning techniques
Designing and implementing various enterprise seach applications such as Elasticsearch and Splunk for client requirements
Work in an Agile collaborative environment partnering with other scientists engineers consultants and database administrators of all backgrounds and disciplines to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of predicting behaviors.
Build teams or writing programs to cleanse and integrate data in an efficient and reusable manner developing predictive or prescriptive models and evaluating modeling results

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience in Informatica Power Center
• Strong understanding of ETL data structures data flow data models and data governance•
Experience working with data warehouse concepts terminology and architecture.
• Strong analytical skills with experience writing functional/technical specifications.
Informatica BDM – Strong procedural coding or scripting experience with a distributed file system and columnar data store (preferably Snowflake) and RDBMS in the data warehousing space.
• Good communication skills
