Job Overview
The Azure Data Engineer will analyze, design and implement solutions on Aclara's analytics platform for internal and external customers. As our business continues to grow, we need more insight into the data and to ensure the data is flowing continuously.
A Day In The Life
- Analyze and design solutions on Aclara's analytics platform for both internal and external customers.
- Implement solutions on the Azure platform, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Use artificial intelligence or machine learning to extract insights from structured and unstructured data sources.
- Design and develop data models and data structures for effective data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- Integrate data from various sources, including internal and external systems, to provide a comprehensive view of the data.
- Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Test and deploy solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and are ready for production.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering with an emphasis on data analytics and reporting
- 2+ years of experience with at least one of the following cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), others
- 2+ years of experience working in Azure based deployments (Batch/Real-Time) leveraging Azure SQL, Databricks, ADLS, Blob Storage, ADF, Azure Stream Analytics
- Experience with Python and/or Spark
- 3+ years of experience with one or more of the follow scripting languages: Python, SQL, Kafka and/or other
- 2+ years of experience manipulating large datasets in cloud environment and applying the appropriate tools (Data Lake, Hadoop, Spark, Data Factory, Structured/Unstructured database).
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
