Your Role and Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting a Data Engineer – Technical Lead
This position involves analysing IT requirements for customer’s projects and designing of appropriate ETL models so that the solutions are implemented in accordance with the client’s requirements and IBM standards. Whilst the position requires primarily modelling skills using Powercenter designer along with ETL-Informatica PL/SQL Skills Advance SQL and unix.

The position will be required to work with other technology architects IT specialists application developers and operations staff to ensure an appropriate solution is designed and implemented.

This role Data Engineer – ETL required to design the data model’s using power designer for Network Risk model and meet business needs. The resulting design may run on multiple platforms and may be composed of components in network world such has Woodpole Insulators HV LV network..etc. This role defines best practices in the critical evaluation and selection and / or development of the Database components and requirements of the applications and data and the development of the application including evaluation and selection of development methods development processes best practices and tools.

As a Data Engineer – ETL your responsibilities include:

• Working with business sponsors to understand business strategies and objectives for building all models in network Risk application.
• Develop technical objectives and requirements to achieve business goals
• Develop high-level and detailed-level technical architecture solutions leveraging leading frameworks approaches and languages
• Develop high-level and detailed-level integration patterns
• Assists in the process of maintaining all the relevant sources of data and ensuring that it is being designed properly using Power designer.
• Involved in developing the ETL processes and is involved in designing and preparing the codes that meet the program specifications as well as the client requirements.
• Involved in the effective implementation of these informatica programs tests them evaluates the requirements addresses and resolves the issues associated with it etc.
• Involved in creating proper technical documentation in the work assignments.
• Understand the business needs and designs programs and systems that match the complex business requirements and records all the specifications that are involved in the development and coding process.
• Ensures that all the standard requirements have been met and is involved in performing the technical analysis.
• Writing shell scripts blocks for streamlining/automating processes data loading validation reconciliation.
• Assist peer developers with writing optimal SQL queries stored procedures functions views triggers constraints ETL scripts.
• Responsible for developing new programs and proofing the program to develop needed changes to assure production of a quality product.
• Responsible for analysis of current programs including performance diagnosis and troubleshooting and designing solutions to problematic programming.
• Experience in Solution designing impact assessment requirements analysis gap analysis and identifying areas of optimization/improvements.
• Involved in various phases of project life cycle like requirement study development design Unit testing Integration testing Implementation and production support.
• Assisting the project manager by compiling information from the current systems analyzing the program requirements and ensuring that it meets the specified time requirements.
• Involved in resolving the moderate problems associated with the designed programs and providing technical guidance on complex programming.
• Involved in the creation of mappings/sessions/workflows in informatica at development phase based on the specifications
• Involved in the Defect-Fixing
• Developing and unit testing the Code(mappings and Workflows) during Coding Phase.
• Issue Clarification meeting with onsite coordinators for getting the requirements and preparation of the test data and performing system Testing for all Test cases.
• Preparation of the migration documents for moving the code from Dev environment to QA/Test environment and from QA/Test environment to PROD environment.
• Actively participated in the status calls and weekly status calls

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills –

• Should have 5 to 6 years of relevant experience & Strong knowledge in Teradata/EDW.
• Perform advanced ETL development activities using Informatica PL/SQL Oracle Database tuning SQL tuning.
• Design implement test and maintain ETL components for mainframe applications.
• Good to have knowledge in UNIX shell commands.
• Develop and enhance ETLs from various sources to Oracle data warehouse.
• Plans and conducts Informatica ETL unit and development tests.
• Westpac Domain experience is preferable.
• Applicants will be required to hold Australian PR or Citizenship.
