Data Engineer, Technology, Schonfeld Data Platform

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors LLC has an opening for a Data Engineer, Technology, Schonfeld Data Platform in New York, New York and Miami, Florida.

The position duties are as follows:  The data engineering team is responsible for re-envisioning Schonfeld’s data platform including the data-processing pipeline, research, and back-testing infrastructure in the cloud. The platform is designed to allow project managers to analyze data, back test their strategies and deploy them to production seamlessly. The Data Engineer will carry out the following day-to-day duties:

• Responsible for creating new functionality within our data processing pipelines, including integrating new data formats, creating new analytic tools, and enhancing parallel compute capabilities
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, data scientists, and data operations to identify functionality and access gaps in loading data sets and ensure they are closed
• Provide weeknight and weekend coverage as part of a weekly L3 support rotation

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or a foreign equivalent, followed by 4 years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, or an equivalent role within the financial services industry. Experience must include:

1. 4 years of experience building enterprise applications with kdb+/q and Python;
2. 3 years of experience building, deploying, running, and debugging code on the cloud or on-prem Linux environment;
3. 3 years of experience working with job orchestration/scheduling tools for ETL processing;
4. 3 years of experience handling Level 3 support issues;
5. 3 years of experience processing, analyzing and supporting global equities and futures market data, including expressing data quality score cards for datasets.

Telecommuting permitted two days per week.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $178,000 & $255,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
