Data Engineering Intern

MyFitnessPal, you’ll have the opportunity to spend 10 weeks with our Data Platform team and work on projects that directly impact our product and users.

This role requires collaborating closely with data scientists and data engineers to test data transformation processes and data movement for quality control and accuracy.  Day to day activities include developing queries (Python, SQL,  Spark, etc), analyzing or sharing data in spreadsheets, developing tests to verify data pipelines and transformations are functioning to specification, and analyzing large food datasets to improve proprietary nutrition taxonomies.

• Be a current, full-time college student with at least one academic term remaining following an internship at MyFitnessPal. The following students are generally eligible:
  • Undergraduate students graduating between December 2023 and May 2024 (rising Juniors or Seniors)
  • Students completing their master’s degree between December 2023 and May 2024
  • Full Time MBA students between the 1st and 2nd year of their program
• Basic understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python
• Experience with MS Excel or Google Sheets
• Familiarity working with data using notebooks in Databricks, Jupyter, Spark, or similar
• Familiar with statistical methods  
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Reliable access to the internet and comfortable in a remote working environment
