Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated individual to join Zayo Group as a Data Governance Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a culture of data governance by partnering with data owners and stewards to promote data governance best practices throughout all IT initiatives. This role will help maintain the integrity, efficiency, and availability of our data through contributing to a data governance strategy, documenting, overseeing the metric definition processes, and creating/maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization. This role will be key to moving Zayo Group to true enterprise metrics that can be leveraged by stakeholders across the organization to produce reporting solutions that have consistent, clearly defined metrics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of new Data Governance Policies, Procedures and Standards
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives around Data Governance
• Establish the Enterprise Data Catalog and enable shop-for-data functionality in the Data Governance Tool
• Serve as the product owner for Data Governance Platform
• Maintain Enterprise Data Catalog, by managing additions, updates and deletion of new data assets
• Perform identification, onboarding, transition and education of people for the defined Data Roles
• Create new as well as update existing workflows in the Data Governance tool
• Develop and manage the product roadmap for the development and enablement of new features, processes and workflows using the Data Governance Platform
• Prepare content and assist in the conduct of monthly Data Governance Committee meetings
• Lead training, communication and enterprise-wide education on Data Governance and the enablement of new policies, procedures & frameworks
• Define exception/quality reporting parameters in tandem with business SMEs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and/or combination of education and equivalent work experience
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• 5 year of data analytics experience using relational databases
• Ability to perform basic performance tuning to optimize queries to meet user needs
• 5 years of experience working in data management, data quality, or data governance

Preferred Qualifications

• Telecommunications industry exposure
• 5+ years of experience with meta-data management software such as Collibra, Alation, etc.
• Experience with agile tools and processes
• Experience in software development life cycle
• 2+ years of experience with SQL

Base pay range: $91,875-$131,250 commensurate with experience.
