Reports to: Head of Automation and Analytics
Overview:
The Data Management Analyst III is a key contributor to the Data Tooling & BI team, focusing on data modeling, workflow automation, and data governance. This role is instrumental in enhancing data efficiency, quality, and accessibility within the organization.
Responsibilities:

Data Modeling and Workflow Automation:
-
Develop and refine data models for various business processes using Alteryx.
-
Automate data workflows to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and ensure data accuracy.

Collaborate with business users to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.

Data Governance and Compliance:
-
Support the development and implementation of enterprise data management policies and standards.
-
Monitor adherence to data policies and standards, identifying and resolving non-compliance issues.
-
Collaborate with Data Stewards on data quality and issue management.
-
Participate in data classification activities in coordination with data stakeholders.

Data Analysis and Insights:
-
Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

Prepare clear and concise data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

Support the development of data-driven decision-making processes.

Alteryx Expertise:
-
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Alteryx Federated CoE and best practices.
-
Provide support to users in leveraging Alteryx for data analysis and automation.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional team to implement Alteryx solutions that align with business objectives.

Stay up to date on Alteryx features and functionalities.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years related experience

Experience in at least one programing language or analytical/statistical tools
-
Knowledge of data management concepts, terminology, roles, and responsibilities

Experience completing data research using industry standard research method.

Experience enforcing data governance policy and standards in a local area
-
Proficiency in Alteryx or similar data modeling and workflow automation tools.
-
Strong understanding of federated CoE models, data governance principles, and best practices.
-
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Knowledge of SQL and other programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Expertise in Alteryx for data analytics, including workflow design, data blending, and advanced analytics.

Strong background in data science, business intelligence, and process automation.

Expert knowledge of the data life cycle
-
Project Management Skills: Strong project management and communication skills to effectively lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Passion for Data Excellence: A commitment to maintaining the highest data quality and governance standards to ensure the BI CoE’s success.

Understanding of specific domains as required by assignment.

Proven experience using change management best practices for adoption of product changes within a specific user group.
-
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Certification in Alteryx or other relevant data tools.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $91,061.75 - $151,769.58 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
