Position Title: Data Manager, Business Intelligence
Reporting To: Senior Director, Health Outcomes
Location: Boston, MA (Newton Office); New York, NY; Chapel Hill, NC; Minneapolis, MN
Salary: $90,000-$120,000, depending on qualifications and experience
Position Summary:
Well is seeking a Data Manager within the Business Intelligence team who will empower the organization to access and leverage key data elements within the company. You will sit at the axis of analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders. This is a transformative business intelligence role which will play a part in enhancing Well’s data analytics approach. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the data warehouses that power our business intelligence and analytics strategy. Success entails developing a deep understanding of stakeholder data requirements, maintaining meticulous documentation of best practices and fact definitions, and ensuring all parts of the Well organization have access to vetted and rigorously tested data.
Responsibilities:
- Understand business context and support analysts and business stakeholders in defining source-of-truth data tables
- Ensure derived data metrics are consistent, reliable and accessible for the organization
- Apply best analytics practices throughout Well’s solutions and toolsets - well architected, trusted & accurate, scalable, stable, responsive performance and secure
- Maintain a keen eye on driving towards self service enablement wherever possible, enabling stakeholders to have a enriched understanding of Well’s data
- Develop best practices for solution and tool frameworks, leveraging standard naming conventions, scripting, and coding practices to ensure consistency of data solution
- Document processes, prioritize data governance, and provide team members with insight into standard processes
- Regularly engage with Data Science on key projects and organization wide initiatives tied to ingestions, warehousing, integrations, performance improvement
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in an analytics engineering, data science, business intelligence and/or analytics
- Experience with healthcare data preferred (e.g. insurance claims, electronic health records, or wearables)
- Expertise in data processing and ETL optimization techniques, especially within Big Query or similar data warehouses
- Experience with data pipeline management technologies with dependency checking, schema design, and dimensional data modeling
- Experience with Cloud technologies
- Strong working knowledge of command line and version control
- Ability to partner with stakeholders to leverage tools, business intuition, and attention to detail for data validation and QA
