Business Unit Overview: Commerce7 is a customer-centric commerce platform in the alcohol industry, powering over 1400 leading alcohol brands, including Opus One, Caymus, Harlan Estate, and William Chris Winery. We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role is for someone located in PST time zone. You’ll start between 8am-9am PST but with flexibility in availability to accommodate international clients’ time zones. Please only apply if you are located in PST time zone.

As a Data Migration Specialist, you will play a key role in the success of our new clients that are onboarding with Commerce7 and need to migrate data from their previous system into our system.

Primary Responsibilities: 

In this role you will:

• Achieve a deep understanding of the API endpoints that are available 
• Write scripts that will be used to execute the data migration
• Analyze the customer’s data as it pertains to their requirements, suggesting solutions for any flagged issues
• Adhering to the scope and timeline, and with a high level of attention to detail, execute the data migration
• Conduct data analysis checks - identify and resolve issues, and data inconsistencies to ensure a clean migration
• Clearly communicate results of the data migration to the team members
• Manage time and deadlines effectively, managing multiple simultaneous projects at the same time
• Communicate directly with the clients via email or Zoom calls for more complex discussions

Primary Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 2 years work experience with NodeJS and writing scripts required.
• Advanced understanding of asynchronous programming; especially with regards to JavaScript required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working with REST APIs required.
• Experience working with GraphQL preferred.
• Experience writing direct SQL code preferred.
• Experience as a data migration specialist for a SaaS company preferred.
• Experience with backend JavaScript frameworks like Express and Fastify, as well as databases like MySQL preferred.
